Kailey Wilson
UConn School of Pharmacy
I was born and raised in Scranton, PA. I currently attend the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. I intend to graduate in 2025 with my bachelor’s degree in pharmacy studies, and in 2027 with my PharmD degree.
My hometown has a significant underserved population, and many of my volunteering experiences in high school involved working to support this population. I was heavily involved in my high school’s Key Club and Leo Club, which both highlighted the importance of community service. I worked shifts at our local soup kitchen, helped set up and distribute food at monthly food drives, created care packages for local emergency service workers, and made donations to local nursing homes and women’s shelters.
Currently, I work with Lambda Kappa Sigma, a professional pharmacy fraternity. Some activities I have taken part in within this organization include blanket and toy making for pets in shelters, donating to local women’s shelters, making Valentine’s Day cards for veterans, and helping to create fundraising events for HuskyTHON and other charities.
I joined UST to help me grow confidently into the pharmacy leader I want to be. It is important for healthcare providers to have advocacy, communication, and leadership skills. I hope that through this experience I can expand on these skills as a pharmacist to continuously learn how to identify and diminish disparities to obtain better health opportunities for all.
