Jessica D'Errico
Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program
I was born and raised in New Haven, CT. I have a bachelor of science degree in neuroscience from Boston College and am currently pursuing my master of health science degree in Quinnipiac University’s Physician Assistant Program.
I have worked as a medical assistant in primary care, cardiology, and maxillofacial surgery offices. My volunteer experience includes serving as a donor ambassador for American Red Cross blood drives; working with the homeless population at the New Haven COVID-19 Relief Center; volunteering at DESK (Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen) in New Haven and the Connecticut Food Bank; and working at a tutoring center for inner-city kids as a member of 4Boston, a service club at Boston College.
I want to join UST/AS to learn about the struggles that underserved populations face in healthcare. By educating myself and others around me about the discrepancies and marginalization in our country’s healthcare system, I can help bring awareness of the underlying biases in medicine. In addition to learning about underserved populations, I want to develop the required interpersonal and clinical skills to best care for my future patients. Through my interactions at UST/AS, I will learn ways to improve my care and facilitate a comforting and trusting environment for a diverse group of patients.
