I was born in Bangor, Maine, where I lived until I moved to Boston for my undergraduate education. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Northeastern University in December of 2020.
During my undergraduate years, I volunteered with Global Medical Brigades, an organization that works with underserved communities around the globe to create stable, sustainable environments. I also worked as a medical assistant at the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program. These two experiences inspired me to pursue a career working to correct healthcare disparities among similar populations.
The Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program is an amazing opportunity to pursue my passion for service as part of my medical education, while being able to give back to the community with which I will spend four years. I will learn invaluable lessons about working with underserved populations of all different backgrounds through the hands-on experience the UST/AS Program offers. I hope to apply the lessons I learn here in order to help provide healthcare as a basic human right to those of community fellow community members that currently lack it.
