Delaney Kehoe
UConn School of Medicine
I was born and raised in Glastonbury, CT. I received a Bachelors of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from UConn Storrs in 2017 and a Pre-Health Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Specialized Studies from the University of Pennsylvania in 2022.
During college, I was a child life volunteer and a personal care assistant for developmentally delayed adults. After graduating, I continued at Connecticut Children’s as both a patient care assistant and a medical team associate. I then transitioned to a medical assistant in a pediatric urgent care before returning to school for my post-baccalaureate studies. I now work as a clinical research assistant in emergency medicine.
In each of my clinical support roles throughout my career, my passion for healthcare access and affordability have become at the forefront of my mind. The UST will allow me to learn about community resources available and teach me to advocate for expansion of such resources. I will gain a greater understanding of where the current local resources fall short through my interactions with community members, and put my best effort into enacting change to fill those gaps in support. I am eager to learn more about health policy through the UST so I can become well-versed in exactly how healthcare will be affected by local law, especially in a post-Roe v. Wade world. My clinical career has thus far been focused on vulnerable populations, and it is clear that the UST will provide me with the resources to become an even stronger advocate for all communities.
