Ariel Morley
Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program, Class of 2019
I was born in Connecticut and raised throughout the state. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Science from Bay Path University in 2016.
I have worked as a nursing assistant for over seven years, primarily with elderly dementia patients and surgical patients. In 2015, I received a grant from the National Science Foundation to intern at Brandeis University studying the cellular development of different types of dementias. I have volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, youth services in my local community, and at a level one trauma center. Finally, I have participated in multiple surgical missions to South America.
My interest in the Urban Service Track program stems from my desire to constantly evolve as a healthcare worker and to become an excellent primary care provider. After spending years working in urban areas throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts, I am very aware of the challenges that underserved patients face, and the opportunity to participate in the UST will better prepare me to help my future patients face those challenges. In addition to UST improving my individual ability as a healthcare provider, the interdisciplinary component of the Urban Service Track will allow me to become a strong collaborator on a healthcare team and to ultimately improve patient care.
