Anneliese Troidle
UConn School of Medicine
I was born and raised in Branford, CT. I attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY, and graduated with my bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering in May 2020. I then attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduated with my master’s degree in biomedical engineering in December 2023.
I have been a Petey Greene Program volunteer tutor at the Allegheny County Community Intensive Supervision Project (CISP), where I worked one-on-one with high school students in the Allegheny County criminal justice system. I have volunteered with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank in direct distribution events, and with Light of Life Rescue Mission, a shelter providing food and housing to the North Side of Pittsburgh. I was also a dialysis technician at Connecticut’s Shoreline Dialysis Center and volunteered at vaccination clinics during the COVID-19 pandemic.
By participating in the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars Program, I hope to continue to pursue my passion for improving health literacy in vulnerable populations throughout Connecticut. I have always felt a strong desire to give back to the community that raised me to become the person I am today. Being a member of the UST/AS program, I will be surrounded with a diverse, multidisciplinary group of scholars with the common goal of providing preventative and primary care throughout Connecticut’s urban populations.
