Anna Hackett
School of Medicine
I grew up in and lived in Wallingford, Connecticut until matriculating at Trinity College in Hartford where I received my B.S. in neuroscience with a concentration in clinical/cognitive neuroscience.
Throughout all four years of my undergraduate, I was involved in clinical neuroscience research with a focus on traumatic brain injury rehabilitation and concussions. Some of my personal projects included research on support for concussed students returning to academic work, attention processing training for concussed students, and rehabilitation modules for memory and attention helping brain injury survivors. I have also worked as a Critical Care research assistant at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, where I was involved in various clinical trials and projects. I have volunteered with the Brain Injury Alliance of CT, Autism Families of CT, Make-A-Wish, and EduMate NYC, with which I tutored local students.
I wanted to join the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program to achieve my goal of being a physician that provides equitable, open-minded, and supportive care to as many patients as possible. I also want to challenge myself to embody the role I believe I can play outside of the hospital promoting preventative care and community health.
