Angel Wang
Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program
I was born in Plano, TX, and moved to Cheshire, CT, at the age of four, where I grew up. At Quinnipiac, I earned my bachelor of science degree in health science studies.
Previously, I have worked as an EMT, personal care aide, and pharmacy technician. I also volunteered as a sexual assault crisis counselor, and I worked with underserved populations at the Keefe Community Center for the past three years. In this role, I managed the community garden, where the harvest was donated to the food pantry at the center, and organized community events in a low-income, food-insecure region in Hamden, CT.
I wanted to join UST/AS because of my interest in improving community health, with a focus on preventative care and education. I hope that through UST/AS I can learn how to effectively care for patients from different backgrounds and reduce the barriers patients may face in accessing care. I believe that UST/AS offers a unique opportunity to interact with other healthcare professionals that PAs may not always collaborate with out in the field. I hope that I can gain interprofessional experience and learn about how each profession’s role can improve the health of underserved communities.
