Kayla Barca
UConn School of Pharmacy
I am currently a P2 (second professional year) student at the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy. I will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy studies and a minor in biological sciences in 2025 and will graduate with a PharmD degree in 2027.
I am from Vernon, a rural town in northern New Jersey. I obtained my high school diploma from Vernon Township High School. During my time in high school, I was heavily involved in the service organization Key Club and my local coalition, in which I encouraged healthy lifestyles among members of my local community and on a national level. My experiences within these organizations ignited my passion for serving others.
I decided to become involved in the Urban Service Track because I want to strengthen my interprofessional communication skills and clinical skills. I also strive to provide direct patient care that is unique to each patient’s needs, specifically making a difference in the lives of underserved patients. I know that UST will be able to equip me with the resources to better myself and the communities I serve.
