Bruce is a dentist and public health professional currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at UConn. Originally from Brazil, he earned a full scholarship to attend the Catholic University of Pelotas School of Dentistry, graduating in 2021 with a thesis on innovative approaches to teaching anesthesiology, and concurrently completed a three-year fellowship in maternal and infant oral health at St. Francis University Hospital, working across public health, primary care, and hospital-based settings. In addition to his clinical training, Bruce has taught courses on healthcare systems and founded two student-led academic organizations that provided care to more than 2,000 individuals annually, primarily women and children from underserved communities. His work focuses on integrating clinical insight, public health systems, and community-based approaches to improve population health outcomes.
