Jennifer Sussman
CPES Coordinator
Jennifer Sussman is a Research Associate II at CPES. Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Trinity College, and an MFA in Writing from Goddard College. Over the past 34 years with the UConn Health, Jennifer has worked in the areas of: health services research; substance use prevention and treatment evaluation and quality improvement; instrument development; training/technical assistance/capacity building; and data and research practices. Jennifer has worked extensively with DMHAS’ prevention and health promotion (PHP) initiatives over the past 10+ years, supporting SAMHSA discretionary and Block Grant funded initiatives. As CPES Coordinator, Jennifer collaborates prevention partners at the state and sub-state level. Jennifer also leads the support of DMHAS’ Regional Priority Report setting process which assesses substance use prevention and mental health promotion gaps, needs, and priorities at the regional and state levels. Her research interests include: behavioral health epidemiology; health disparities/SDOH; risk and resilience factors; and community needs assessment.
