Community-based Nutrition Research
This food safety curriculum was developed in 2009 for presentation at “control” schools by UConn undergraduate students, who were properly trained to deliver the messages. The curriculum consisted of lesson plans presented weekly over a ten-week period. Included in each lesson are resources for the students, informative handout materials to provide to parents, a display board, a description of the activity for the week, and an activity evaluation. There have been no updates to these resources since the completion of the grant in 2013. If you intend to use any of these resources, be sure to check the current USDA food safety guidelines for accuracy.
