Summary of Results
The information below presents hospital readmission rates per 100,000 for ACSCs by gender for years 2012 through 2017. In general, hospital readmissions for overall ACSCs was greater for males than females. The average hospital readmission rate for overall ACSCs from 2012 to 2017 was 17.2% for males and 15.5% for females.
In the years prior to SIM (2012-2015), the rate of hospital readmissions for overall, acute, and chronic ACSCs remained fairly stable. After the implementation of SIM (2016-2017), the rate of hospital readmissions due to overall and chronic ACSCs increased slightly for both men and women, and decreased slightly for acute conditions.
