Research
The Division of Nephrology is involved in research programs that aim to improve quality of care and outcomes for our patients. Our research topics include molecular mechanisms of kidney injury and fibrosis; outcomes of dialysis and therapeutic apheresis; scholarly studies of unusual or rare kidney diseases; evaluation of chronic periodontal disease in patients with chronic kidney disease; and development of a diet application software for tracking and reporting of diet habits in patients with chronic kidney disease and heart failure. Research is a fundamental part of the Nephrology Division.
