The Hereditary Cancer Program at UConn Health guided Penny Dobbins, a breast cancer survivor, through the genetic testing process

Genetic Testing Offers Peace of Mind for Breast Cancer Patient

Penny Dobbins successfully battled breast cancer in her late 20’s but that early diagnosis meant Penny was at increased risk for another – more deadly – cancer.

The Division of Medical Genetics at UConn Health provides up-to-date information about the cause, heritability, and management of genetic conditions, such as birth defects, intellectual disabilities, and adult-onset diseases.

Our services are available to primary care providers and specialists as well as family members.
