Katia Ruesta-Daley

Katia Ruesta-Daley, MSW, is a community-based researcher and social worker with a strong background in health equity, policy advocacy, and community organizing. As a Research Assistant 2, Katia supports participatory research projects that center community voices and promote interdisciplinary collaboration to address structural barriers to health. She contributes to the development and implementation of university-community partnerships that aim to improve health outcomes through equitable and inclusive strategies.

Katia is passionate about immigrant health justice and using policy and research to create lasting systems change. She brings experience in coalition building, grassroots advocacy, and qualitative research methods, with a focus on addressing racial and social disparities in healthcare. Katia remains active in statewide advocacy efforts, serving on the board of CT Students for a Dream and the HUSKY 4 Immigrants Coalition’s steering committee. She enjoys working alongside communities to co-create solutions rooted in equity and lived experience.
