HDI invites clinicians and health professionals with relevant expertise and an interest in menopause care to apply to the Clinical Expert Panel. Specialization in menopause care is not required.

About the Toolkit
Under Public Act 26-13, Section 18, the UConn Health Disparities Institute (HDI) is developing a statewide toolkit. It will give Connecticut health care providers practical, evidence-based, and culturally appropriate guidance on menopause care. The toolkit approaches menopause as a normal life transition and helps providers recognize, discuss, and support patients through perimenopause, menopause, and postmenopause.
The toolkit is being developed through a participatory, culturally responsive process. That process brings together clinical expertise, provider perspectives, and the lived experiences of people affected by menopause.
Clinical Expert Panel
Lenora S. Williams, MD, FACOG, MSCP, Assistant Professor (Clinical) of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UConn School of Medicine and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, will chair the panel.
Panel members will:
- Guide and review clinical content.
- Review provider tools, resources, and clinical scenarios.
- Provide feedback on feasibility and usability in practice.
- Participate in a joint session with the Menopause Equity Collective (MEC) to incorporate community and lived-experience perspectives.
Commitment and Honorarium
- About 18–24 hours between November 2026 and September 2027
- Four working sessions of up to two hours each, one joint session with the MEC, and review of materials between sessions (an additional session may be scheduled if more clinical review is needed)
- $1,000 honorarium
- First session: hybrid format, on an evening in November or early December 2026 (proposed dates are included in the form)

Who Can Apply?
Relevant areas of expertise may include primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, internal and family medicine, cardiology, endocrinology, dermatology, psychiatry, psychology, clinical social work, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, exercise physiology, dental medicine and oral health, and related fields.
