Volunteers Needed for a Research Study
The Principal Investigators, Drs. Carla Rash & Sheila Alessi of UConn Health, and their staff are recruiting people to take part in the “Health Behaviors and Employment” Research Study. This study looks at how unemployment and alcohol use relate.
If you are looking for a job and drink alcohol, you may qualify to participate.
Participation involves:
-
6 interviews over a year
-
Individual meetings 1 time per week for 12 weeks that may help you find a job
-
Answering cell phone calls regularly for 12 weeks to monitor alcohol use
Participants are compensated up to $994 in checks and gift cards over the year for their time and participation. Participants will be randomly assigned (like the flip of a coin) to one of four interventions designed to help participants toward employment goals. Some participants have chances to win prizes.
