Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program

I am currently studying Physician Assistant Studies at Quinnipiac University, from which I expect to graduate in 2021. I was raised in Glastonbury, Connecticut and attended the University of Rhode Island for nutrition and dietetics. I then completed a dietetic internship to become a Registered Dietitian at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.

During my career as a dietitian, I specialized in oncology nutrition and worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. In my free time, I volunteered for multiple organizations providing nutrition education and prepared meals to those in need. I developed a passion working for members of underserved populations and decided to attend school as a physician assistant student with the intent of working with a large, urban community following graduation.

The Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars Program will teach me additional clinical and physical diagnostic skills that will allow me to further my career as a primary care physician assistant. I hope to combine my background in nutrition and the skills gained from the UST/AS Program in order to provide preventative, diagnostic, and curative care plans for patients in a primary care setting. I also look forward to collaborating with students from other disciplines to advance my communication skills and to access a variety of perspectives on patient care. I am confident that the UST/AS Program will mold me into a valuable member of the healthcare community.
