Stephanie Chinwo

UConn School of Medicine

I was born in New York but spent most of my childhood splitting time between the city and New Jersey. I graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a minor in molecular cell biology in May 2021. I went on to complete my master’s in biomedical sciences at UConn Health in May 2023.

During my time at UConn, I have had the opportunity to serve my community by taking on leadership roles in various organizations such as the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), Community Service Days, and the Just Us Moving Program (JUMP).  With all of these organizations, I learned the importance of mentorship, collaboration, and service. Through my participation, I realized my deep interest in advocacy and health education. I sought involvement in the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholar Program because I believe its curriculum will provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to become an empathetic, conscious, and insightful member of a healthcare team.
