Stacy-Ann Wallen
UConn School of Nursing
I was born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut and am currently an undergrad at UConn. I have volunteered at Saint Francis Hospital, the Salvation Army, and at a Women’s Correctional Facility
I heard about UST through my mom, a graduate of the Urban Service Track. After hearing the excitement and passion in my mom’s description of how beneficial the program was to her career, I decided to learn more about the program, and realized it was the ideal program for me. I am eager to learn more about the skills and the knowledge I need to be a better nursing student, and feel as if the UST can help me acquire these. In addition to professional training, I believe that the UST’s emphasis on exposing its scholars to experiences outside of the classroom will help me become a nurse better able to understand her patients and their backgrounds. The UST will help me realize my passion to help others, and will allow me to help many more than I would otherwise be able to help.
