UConn School of Pharmacy

I was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and moved to Connecticut at a very young age. I lived in Vernon, Connecticut for most of my youth and earned an undergraduate degree in molecular and cell biology from UConn.
At UConn Pharmacy, I am a board member for the Student National Pharmaceutical Association, an organization focused on community outreach and involvement with underserved populations. Our goal is to raise awareness in these communities of pertinent health issues and to provide counseling on matters pharmaceutical. I have also been involved in volunteering for blood drives, planning free blood pressure clinics, and raising awareness of diseases in high-risk patients.
My ultimate goal in the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program is to address issues that underserved populations face, to be a vocal advocate for them, and to be an integral part of a healthcare team focused on making effecting change. I hope to use the clinical knowledge and interpersonal skills I have gained through pharmacy school, Walgreens, and Yale New Haven Hospital to provide medical resources and education in order to combat health inequities. I also believe the UST/AS Program will provide me with valuable interprofessional experience allowing me to treat my future patients holistically as a pharmacist. These interprofessional experiences will improve my abilities to communicate, to collaborate, and to direct patients to appropriate healthcare resources.
