UConn School of Social Work

I was born in North Stonington, Connecticut, and moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan when I was four years old. I lived there until age ten, when my family and I moved to Salem, Connecticut. I obtained my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from Quinnipiac University.

I am certified in Mental Health First Aid, and have also assisted the Quinnipiac University Counseling Department in setting up an educational booth on sexual assault for Fresh Check Day 2018, a fair hosted by the university for students to come together to discuss mental health. I am excited and ready to increase my experience in healthcare through the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars Program.

I sought involvement in UST/AS Program because I feel a great compulsion to provide quality care and comfort to underserved populations. I grew up with privileged access to excellent care opportunities, and would like to see these opportunities extended to each and every person in the United States, no matter their socioeconomic status. My experiences with the UST/AS Program will allow me to see healthcare from numerous perspectives, which in turn will make me a stronger social worker.
