UConn School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2019

I was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey and raised in Brick, NJ. I graduated from Rowan University in 2014 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences.

After high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served abroad in Iraq and Afghanistan. Serving my country in the military was a rewarding experience and my desire to continue serving the community continued throughout my studies at Rowan University. I participated in multiple clubs throughout my undergraduate career that regularly provided aid to the underserved in the local community. I also volunteered at a general practice residency where I saw the plight many face without access to comprehensive dental care.

I want to participate in the Urban Service Track because I have seen firsthand the potential harm arising from lack of comprehensive medical care. The UST will allow me to help those who are in most need of dental care, while gaining a better understanding of how healthcare professionals from various fields can collaborative to deliver the best possible healthcare outcomes to patients. The program will also equip me with the knowledge and skills to be an effective member and practitioner within any such group.
