UConn School of Medicine Class of 2016

I am from Windsor, Conn., and graduated from UConn in 2011 with a B.S. in Physiology and Neurobiology and minor in Molecular and Cell Biology. I volunteer at a soup kitchen and mentor the children of my church, both in Hartford. My desire has always been to serve the underserved and to fight for those who are unable to fight for themselves. I have chosen to do this through medicine. What the Urban Service Track affords me is an enriching experience that augments and specializes my medical training to a population that society commonly overlooks or classifies as a burden. The interdisciplinary curriculum will allow me to fulfill my desire with a team of like-minded people of varying disciplines and skill sets—the healthcare practice of our future.
