Monique Miller
UConn School of Pharmacy
I was born and raised in Bloomfield, CT and I spent a few years living in Georgia. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Studies from the University of Connecticut in 2018 and I am currently pursuing my PharmD with an anticipated graduation in 2020.
Over the years, I have gained valuable exposure in volunteering at various places, including Bloomfield Health Care and Hartford Hospital. I feel that these experiences have contributed to my interests today, which is in catering to the underserved population. Upon entering pharmacy school, which many of you know, is truly a difficult transition due to the tough workloads, I continued to volunteer. I learned about urban service track at the beginning of my first year in pharmacy school and immediately became interested in becoming a scholar. In being a part of UST, I have been able to not only get a refresher of information I have learned in class, but I have also been able to get “hands-on” experience. I have participated in clinics, learning retreats, and more – which have all been both informative and eye-opening. I know that UST, in addition to pharmacy school, will help mold me into an effective health care provider.
