UConn School of Pharmacy

My name is Mikayla, and I am from Windsor, CT. I plan to graduate from the UConn School of Pharmacy in 2025 with my Pharm.D.

Throughout my college career, I have gained diverse professional and volunteer experiences through a variety of programs and organizations. I currently work as a pharmacy intern at UConn Health. Prior to beginning this internship in June 2021, I was a resident assistant and university tour guide for three years. In the School of Pharmacy, I have continued my experience through my position as a Pharmacy Ambassador and volunteering at various health clinics and outreach events.

I joined the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program to learn how I can support under served populations so I can provide equitable care to the greatest of my ability. My goal is to equip myself with the best understanding of the unique challenges these communities face so I can properly provide individualized, patient-centered care. I strongly believe my experiences through UST/AS will make me a more compassionate and culturally sensitive healthcare provider who will continuously advocate for improvement in health outcomes.
