UConn School of Medicine

I was born in Andhra Pradesh, India, and moved to the United States when I was a year old, where I grew up in Connecticut. I attended the University of Connecticut where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.

Throughout high school and college, I taught dance, yoga, biology, chemistry, and English, and spent my free time volunteering at local homeless shelters or medical camps. Upon completion of my undergraduate studies, I volunteered as a translator at urban and rural hospitals in India. These teaching and volunteering experiences put me in contact with people of various backgrounds and provided me insight into both their medical and personal needs.

I would like to become an OB/GYN and work with the underserved populations, and the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars Program will help me achieve this goal. The UST/AS Program will also allow me to understand the roles other healthcare disciplines and professions play in patient care, which will allow my fellow scholars and I to provide optimal, holistic care to our future patients.
