UConn School of Medicine

I was born and raised Woodbridge, Connecticut. In May 2018, I graduated from the UConn Honors Program with degrees in Molecular and Cell Biology and Psychological Sciences. I also obtained minors in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Bioinformatics, and Computer Science.

While at UConn, I spent time shadowing at a clinic in New Haven, which allowed me to witness some of the deficiencies patients faced in accessing health care: many had not had yearly checkups due to lack of resources or access to adequate care. I have also coordinated events for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation and Sharsheret, an organization that brings together women with breast or ovarian cancer. Seeing the impact of these events on the lives of others has motivated me to take every opportunity to help those in need.

The Urban Service Track will help me realize my goals of practicing as an OB/GYN and making women’s health services more accessible. It will also let me explore my interest in the social determinants of health and how these impact access to health care. Health care is a human right, and through involvement with the UST, I can bring health care to individuals who would otherwise go without it. The UST will also give me the opportunity to work with professionals from other health care disciplines, furnishing me with a holistic perspective on patient care and making me a more effective physician.
