Jordan Vidal

UConn School of Pharmacy

I was born and raised in the city of Shelton, Connecticut. I attended Quinnipiac University and obtained my B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience. While attending Quinnipaic, I was involved with the university’s Big Event project, which helps residents of the surrounding communities come together to improve their community or facility. I was also involved with research into the effects of chronic stress on microglia in a rat model.

I wanted to join the Urban Service Track because I feel that healthcare is only becoming more integrated as it progresses and that we need the combined effort of all practitioners to solve the current health issues in our communities. The various social determinants of health create an inequality in service to populations, especially those in urban, underserved areas. UST provides a unique supplement to my education that I hope will help me reduce this disparity. The primary care emphasis of UST will help me develop much needed skill-sets for my future career and goals.
