Jessica Weeks
School of Medicine, Class of 2021
I was born and grew up in Danbury, Connecticut. I graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a B.A. in Biology and minors in Sociology and Mathematics. I am currently a student at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, from which I will graduate in 2021.
I have worked and volunteered with underserved populations through programs such as Alternative Spring Break, Saturdays of Service, Highland Residential Tutoring, and the Teen Innovation Program. I love helping children and teenagers, with most of my volunteer experiences focusing on improving the lives of children in my community. My desire to improve the lives and healths of children coupled with my desire to work in a medical field have both driven my desire to become a pediatrician who works with underprivileged populations. Moreover, I want this work not to be limited to the clinic, but to extend outward into the community, where I can assist patients through all types of situations. I believe the Urban Service Track is the ideal program to help me become such a doctor. With the medical knowledge and support from the UST, I’m confident I can become make the greatest possible impact in the community I will come to serve.
