UConn School of Nursing

I was born and raised in Trumbull, CT, and I’m currently working towards my bachelor of science in nursing at the University of Connecticut. My passion lies in understanding and addressing the disparities that plague our healthcare system.

My experiences have included delving into research on the effects of redlining on health outcomes, which has opened my eyes to the systemic barriers that many face. I’ve also dedicated time to volunteering in healthcare settings (specifically optometry), gaining valuable hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of patient needs.

I sought involvement in the UST/AS Program because I believe advocacy is crucial in nursing, especially when working with populations facing significant disparities. I hope that, through this program, I’ll gain the skills and knowledge to effectively advocate for my future patients and contribute to positive changes in healthcare. UST/AS will teach me more about advocating for my future patients while working in a field where disparities are prominent. I’m determined to use my education and past experiences to make a real difference in the lives of those I serve, and to help shape a more equitable healthcare landscape.
