Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program

I was born in Danbury, Connecticut and raised in different towns and cities throughout the state. I’ve received an undergraduate degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences and a Master of Arts degree with a concentration in Biology, both from UConn. I also have my State of Connecticut teaching license and my Connecticut coaching certification.

During my time as a teacher, I worked on community projects and with students after school to help them achieve academic excellence. As the strength and conditioning coach, I revamped my school’s gym and volunteered an additional 10 to 15 hours a week to provide all students with a safe and healthy environment where they could go after school to be active, get homework done, and stay out of trouble. I also worked at UConn Health Center for five years. I spent one year as a phlebotomist, and four years as a clinical laboratory scientist in Transfusion Services and Hematology.

The Urban Service Track allows me to take an important first step towards giving back to the community in a new way. I’ve played many roles in the community: I’ve been a teacher, a coach, and a hospital employee. However, I feel I can make the most substantial, positive impact in the community as a Physician Assistant. UST will help me begin this new chapter in life, a chapter I hope to write in collaboration with the underserved community I will serve.
