Jamie Freeman

Quinnipiac Physician Assistant Program, Class of 2017

I was born in Durango Colorado. I grew up in a city just outside Denver Colorado, and moved to Connecticut to attend Connecticut College in 1999. I received my Bachelors of Arts in 2003 and became a paramedic in 2004.

I have done various food drives, homeless shelter soup kitchens, and toy drives from high school until present. While working as a paramedic I was primarily located in Hartford CT where I had the opportunity to help many underserved people, living within our own community.

I want to join Urban Service Track because it represents the backbone to healthcare. It is where communication and teamwork are appreciated to create a plan and outcome best for patients in the community. I believe the Urban Service Track serves as solid framework for so much to be built upon. With the Urban Service Track I have the opportunities to learn to work with other professionals, engage in community outreach programs, and to serve as an advocate for people that are not afforded the health care that others are. I have chosen a career in health care to serve those in need and make a difference while doing so. There is no better way to start that than being a team member of Urban Service Track. If selected to be a member, I believe that I would be able to make a difference in patients’ lives, starting now and lasting forever.
