Hannah McCarthy
UConn School of Pharmacy
I was born and raised in Middleboro, Massachusetts. I will graduate from UConn with a Bachelor of Science degree in pharmacy studies in May 2021 and will earn my Pharm.D. in May 2023.
While a student at UConn, I was involved in numerous public health organizations and community outreach activities. Professionally, I have worked as a pharmacy intern at Osco Pharmacy, through which I have learned the importance of community engagement in medicine.
I was driven to join the Urban Service Track/AHEC Scholars (UST/AS) Program because its tenets align with my own personal beliefs and goal of becoming a pharmacist in an urban, primary care setting. My passion for service and my interest in the intersection between public health and primary care compel me to serve vulnerable populations. As an Urban Health Scholar and a future pharmacist, I will be able to follow through on my desire to serve the underserved as an empathetic, dedicated primary care provider. I intend to use my time in the UST/AS Program to provide patient care focused on each patient’s individual needs and considerate of their own unique set of barriers to access.
