I was born in Kosovo and came to America when I was 9 years old. I have lived in Hartford since moving here. I joined UST because I want to make a difference in the lives of those who do not have access to health care. The program embodies the main reasons why I wanted to be a health care professional: passion for helping others and the ability to make a difference. My goal is to make a difference in a person’s life, however big or small it may be. Being a Scholar will allow me to interact with other health care professionals in order to better serve patients who are in need. I hope UST will open my eyes to what issues are at hand in the community and make what I am learning in the classroom come to life.
