UConn School of Medicine

I grew up in Rocky Hill, CT. I’ve lived there for most of my life. I studied at UConn in Storrs, where I majored in biology and minored in sociology. I graduated in May 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences.

I volunteered with UConn Health Leaders (UCHL) at the outpatient and family medicine clinics during my undergrad years, an experience that shaped my ambitions and is one that I will never forget. The time I spent working with underserved patients, getting to know them and having the opportunity to make a difference in their lives, was truly fulfilling. I’ve also volunteered as an EMT in my hometown for the last three years, and intend to continue during medical school. I’ve carried over what I learned from UCHL to help others I’ve met as an EMT.

I sought involvement in the Urban Service Track because of my desire to advocate for and strengthen underserved populations in my future career in primary care. I’m very passionate about health equity. I want to further develop my understanding of the sociological factors that shape our health—our lives—and my ability to effectively address them. I strongly believe primary care is where I can make the biggest contribution to the overall health and wellbeing of patients, to communities, and to healthcare as a whole!
