Erica Poehailos

My name is Erica Poehailos and I am a part of the UConn School of Nursing Class of 2025. I was born and raised in Prospect, Connecticut and graduated from Woodland Regional High School in 2021. Since a young age, I have volunteered in various community service events and fundraisers such as food and clothing drives for those in need, fundraising for medical research, and most recently, HuskyTHON. My whole life I have always aspired to be able to make a positive impact on the lives of those around me. It is what has led me to seek a career in nursing and it is what drives my aspirations to become more involved in public health. Throughout my time here at UConn, I continue to learn so much valuable information about the disparities in the access and quality of healthcare, education, and other support systems. This knowledge has driven my ambitions further, leading me to seek more ways to become involved in my community and help those in need.
