Christine Donat

UConn School of Medicine, Class of 2021

I was born and raised in the town of Madison, Connecticut. In May 2017, I graduated from the Honors Program at UConn with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology and Neurobiology.

I have participated in volunteer work throughout most of my life, most recently serving in the University of Connecticut chapter of the Collegiate Health Service Corps. I have also volunteered abroad in Buenos Aires and Concepción del Uruguay, Argentina. On both occasions, I taught health lessons to medically underserved populations.

I sought involvement in the Urban Service Track to continue my life-long commitment to volunteer work with medically underserved communities. I expect that my experience with the UST will increase my understanding of the needs of urban medically underserved communities, improve my knowledge of health policy, and gain general cultural competence skills. I also hope to spread health knowledge to those I meet, treating all with patience and compassion.
