Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant

I was born and raised in Duxbury, Massachusetts. I attended Quinnipiac University, where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies in 2018.

I have participated in service trips to West Virginia, Louisiana, and North Carolina to complete home repair through Appalachia Service Project and Habitat for Humanity, where I encountered many families that lacked access to adequate health care and lived in unsafe homes. I have also worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for two years in a skilled nursing facility.

I wanted to become involved in the Urban Service Track because I hope to work as a physician assistant in an underserved area after graduating from Quinnipiac. While working for a home repair ministry in rural Virginia, I met many families who could not afford regular health visits or the medication they needed to take. I also saw many injuries that were the result of inadequate access to emergency care, as the closest hospital was over an hour away. This inspired me to pursue a health care career in an underserved area. While I have previously worked in more rural areas, I believe that the UST will help me learn more about underserved communities in urban areas. I also believe that it will provide me with the skills needed to make a difference in providing universal access to health care.
