UConn School of Dental Medicine, Class of 2019

I was born in Arlington, VA and raised in Washington D.C. for the first two years of my life before moving to Farmington Hills, MI. I attended The George Washington University area where I received my Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship.

During my undergraduate college career, I volunteered with Justice for Juniors, a youth program focused on decreasing the high juvenile recidivism rate in the District of Columbia. I prepared lesson plans for active participant discussions on how best to resolve problems with drug, physical and sexual abuse for teenagers. Through this program, we sought to provide a supportive arena for juveniles to discuss their concerns and take an active part in crafting solutions.

I joined the Urban Service Track because I want to be more involved in the Connecticut community; I want to be a competent healthcare professional, but I also want to give back to my community in other ways. Through my volunteer and internship experiences, I observed first hand the impact I could have on a diverse group of people who were connected by a common problem. It is by giving to others that I have truly been able to find myself and my purpose in life. I look forward to pursuing the passion I have found through dental medicine by continuing to give back to my community and by being the best dentist I can be.
