Brianne Miller
UConn School of Nursing
I was born and raised in East Hampton, CT, and graduated from high school with aspirations to become a nurse at UConn’s School of Nursing.
I am involved in clubs at UConn that are volunteer based, such as Husky Ambassadors, and I am currently being trained for UConn’s School of Nursing tours. I also volunteer my time at events on campus, like UConn Bound Day and raising money for HuskyTHON. I love getting to volunteer my time with special education students at my mom’s elementary school, and I was a part of the National Honor Society and Interact Club in high school. During winter and summer breaks, I work at a daycare. I love working with the kids and making a difference in their lives.
I sought involvement in UST because I want to leave a lasting impact on people in need. I believe that giving back to people helps strengthen the community by building close relationships and positively impacting people’s lives. I have the ability to make someone’s life better, so I want to start now, before I even have a nursing degree. Nurses work hands-on with their patients, so I was inspired to apply to UST because a major part of the program is working very closely with underserved populations in the community. UST is a great way for me to be involved directly with helping others.
