Benjamin Noblitt
UConn School of Dental Medicine Class of 2016
I was born and raised in Washington state, and hold a degree in finance from the University of Washington. I was very close to attending law school, but had a change of heart and went back to school in order to attend dental school. I like to volunteer with UST because the experience one obtains in school and that obtained in “real life” seem to be quite different. The UST educational events I’ve already worked on – including Smiling Seniors, Wheeze to Breeze, Man Up – have allowed me to interact with variety of populations, like the elderly, smokers, and men. Volunteering with an organization such as UST has allowed be to not only become comfortable working with different professions, but also get an idea of what it’s like to include other professions in my work. Pairing this with the obvious benefit volunteering has to society, it is clearly a wonderful opportunity and one worth being a part of.
