UConn School of Dental Medicine

I was born and raised in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a small island in the Caribbean. I moved to the United States at the age of 11 and have lived in Dayton, New Jersey ever since. I attended Villanova University where I attained a B.S. in Biochemistry.

Post graduation I took two gap years, during which I worked as a pharmacy technician at CVS for about a year, then as a research associate at WuXi AppTec while I applied for dental school. I have always been service oriented actively participating in community service events and activities especially during my time in undergrad. This was a part of my life that I actively maintained during my time off, spending several days per month at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen serving and interacting with the people who came to soup kitchen, the workers and other volunteers.

I want to be involved in UST/AS because I believe that this program is a necessary component of my dental education as someone who intends to work in underserved communities. I hope that through this program, I will garner the skills and tools necessary to be a well-informed, competent dentist who can not only deliver excellent oral care, but also elicit necessary change that will positively impact the lives of my patients.
