Quinnipiac Physician Assistant Program, Class of 2017

Background: Born in Havre de Grace, MD and raised in Conowingo, MD, located in rural Cecil County about 45 minutes northeast of Baltimore City. Received Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University in 2012.

Related Experience: Worked as an Emergency Room Technician in both rural and urban settings over a span of eight years, which saw patients from underserved areas for both acute and chronic medical and mental health problems. Served in the Maryland Army National Guard as a medic with a deployment as a Flight Medic to Kosovo. Assisted soldiers with the completion of their annual health/dental requirements to include follow-up care of any new-onset problems identified during screenings and ensured completion of patient education for management of chronic medical problems.

I want to become involved in UST because I want to make a difference in the care that underserved patients receive. I believe that all patients should be able to receive the best care possible regardless of the ability to pay or educational status; the provider should make every effort to give the patient the best possible information with which to direct their care. Also, I would like to extend my knowledge to patients who may be having difficulty choosing what steps to take to better their overall health and I would like to ensure they receive a wealth of resources tailored to their environment and individual needs.
