UConn School of Pharmacy

I was born and raised in Albania and I moved to the United States when I was in third grade. I started college with the intent to earn my PharmD which required me to do two years of Pre-Pharmacy requirements and four years of Professional years. My work experiences related to my pharmacy profession include my positions as a pharmacy intern at CVS Pharmacy and The Hospital of Central Connecticut. In addition, I am an active member and Treasurer of College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacist (CPNP), a local organization within the School of Pharmacy. My main goal in this organization is to highlight the importance of understanding mental health and substance abuse disorders as regular disease states that affect individuals and not blaming the individuals for these conditions. I want to remove the stigma that is associated with these conditions to better allow student pharmacists to be comfortable in providing care for these individuals. From my UST experience, I would like to gain experiences in which I can accommodate vulnerable patients alongside other healthcare professional students to address their concerns and guide them to the best resources possible for them. It is very important to me to do something meaningful with my profession and the core values of UST provide me with opportunities to make my desire possible.
