UConn School of Dental Medicine

I was born in Akron, OH, and raised in Fairfield, CT. I went to the University of Connecticut and received a B.S. in physiology and neurobiology in 2023.

While at UConn, I served as a resident assistant, helping to forge strong bonds within my campus community. As a club president, I, along with other representatives, advocated for an improvement in resources and dining options for Muslim students throughout UConn. Since graduation, I have worked as a medical assistant at an urgent care center in Norwalk, CT, which has given me a glimpse into some of the barriers facing underserved populations. This has deepened my desire to provide accessible and compassionate care for those that I serve.

As a part of the Urban Service Track, I hope to further understand the roadblocks to care in an effort to better serve my community by making dental care available and equitable for all. In addition, I hope to build a foundation in educating my community about oral health, strengthen my clinical and interpersonal skills, and learn to become a better advocate for both my patients and my professional colleagues.
