UConn School of Pharmacy

I was born and raised in Bangladesh and moved to the United States during my senior year of high school. That transition shaped my perspective, showing me how environment influences access to support, and how important empathy is in every interaction. It also sparked my interest in understanding people across cultures and adapting to new challenges with openness and curiosity.

I earned my bachelor of science degree in biological sciences from UConn in 2023, with a minor in molecular and cell biology. Over the past four years, I have worked in a community pharmacy, where I have had the privilege of serving a diverse patient population. I’ve learned to listen first, speak with care, and recognize that every patient brings a unique story to the counter. During my undergrad years, I was involved with the UConn Red Cross Club, helping run blood drives and support health education efforts on campus.

I joined UST/AHEC because I want to grow as a healthcare professional who prioritizes people, not just prescriptions. Working in a pharmacy has shown me the profound impact of making patients feel seen, heard, and respected. Through UST/AS, I hope to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities and become a pharmacist who drives both clinical innovation and equitable care for all.
