Quinnipiac University Physician Assistant Program, Class of 2019
I was born and raised in Chicopee, MA and later moved to Southwick, MA. After graduating from Southwick-Tolland-Granville Regional High School, I attended Quinnipiac University. I completed my Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences as part of the Entry-Level Master’s Physician Assistant Program in May 2017.
For my entire life, I have worked on community service projects and with service-based organizations. Throughout my undergraduate career, I tried to balance my studies with service in the local and global community. The most significant and meaningful events that I took part in at Quinnipiac were QTHON, Skiers Unlimited through CT Children’s Hospital, Girl’s Inc. Meriden, and a service trip with QU South Africa. In addition, I have worked as a Physical Therapy Aide and Dietary Aide, and interned at Hamden and Franklin County Cardiovascular Associates.
My beliefs in strong preventative care, patient education, and public health drive me to seek a career in primary care. Each of my service and healthcare experiences has helped me envision the practitioner that I hope to become. My core healthcare beliefs and my passion for community service led me to the Urban Service Track as the most effective program to realize my practical and medical ideals. As part of the UST, I am excited both to develop the skills I’ll need as a health care provider and to work with other health professionals in providing care to local underserved populations.
