Honoring Our Veterans - THE PULSE Issue 86 November 2, 2017
Faculty, staff and students gathered yesterday at the Student Services Center to pay tribute to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The UConn Health Honor Guard began the Veterans Appreciation Day event by presenting the colors. Participants learned about the Friends of Fisher House Organization, posted messages for veterans on a “Wall of Wishes,” and signed a card for the American Red Cross “Holidays for Heroes” program. This year’s campaign will deliver cards from local communities to local military facilities, veteran’s homes and hospitals, and military family support groups. If you have holiday cards you’re willing to donate, contact Alison Valone Suhocki at ValoneSuhocki@uchc.edu.
Successful Toys for Tots Campaign- The Pulse Issue 92 | December 21, 2017
A big thank you to those who donated to this year’s Toys for Tots campaign. This was the campaign’s first year and more than 100 toys were collected. Alison Valone Suhocki and Lisa Francini with Student Services express their gratitude to the UConn Health community for their overwhelming generosity in making the holiday season a special one for less fortunate children.
